Al Amara Investigation Court confirmed the statements of a defendant who killed his father and wounded his sister in the Al-Resala neighborhood of Amara due to family disputes.

"The defendant confessed to the investigating judge that he had killed his father, and that his sister was injured in the left shoulder area because of a family dispute over the inheritance," the media center's spokesman said.

"The offender, who (the son) crossed the fence of their house and shot from a pistol carrying it to his father and killed him and shot his sister and shot her in the left shoulder area." The reporter added

He pointed out that "the court has ratified his statements and all actions have been taken against him in accordance with Article 406 of the Iraqi Penal Code."
