Various Sentences to Prison for Drug Traffickers

Qurna Criminal Court issued various sentences to prison and financial penalties of IQD 10 million for  five drug dealers.

Qurna Criminal Court handed down a sentence to ten years in prison against a convicted was found in possession cannabis for the purpose of trafficking in Qurna district , Thagher locality ,Jouber area  ,  a reporter of the  Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council said.

The reporter kept on that the Court tried a case of another convict and sentenced him to six years imprisonment on crime of abusing and sealing  drugs of type of amphetamines in al-Madina Shwej district.  

The court also heard a case of three convicts and sentenced them to five years and a month to person on crime of possessing narcotics  in order to traffick in al-Madina district, al-Hawair locality and Qurna district..

The sentences were in accordance with provisions of article (28/first) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances No .(50) of 2017 .
