Judiciary Denies Existence of a Deal Between Iraq and France on Persons Under Sentence of Death

Supreme Judicial Council has denied the existence of a deal between Iraqi and French governments on commuting of death penalty against French citizens are recently sentenced.

The punishments imposed by Iraqi courts are reviewed only by Court of Cassation which is authorized by law to approve or change these punishments according to the circumstances of each crime not upon deals between the governments, the official spokesman of the Supreme Judicial Council  judge Abdul Sattar Berqdar said.
