Central Investigation Ratifies Confessions of Accused Blackmailed 40 Physicians After Threatening to Kill them

Central Investigation Court at Presidency of Baghdad /Rusafa Federal Appeal Court announced the arrest of an accused who blackmailed a large group of physicians after threatening to kill them and their confessions  were ratified judicially .

The judge competent in cases of Saqour intelligence cell ratified the confessions of accused who had blackmailed 40 physicians in Baghdad after threatening to kill them in the case of non-payment , a statement of the Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council said.

The statement noted that the accused in agreement with other defendants was scamming physicians under claiming that the physician performed a surgery for their son but the surgery failed so that the patient was traveled outside Iraq for treatment then the group threatened the physician

The group repeated the operation with 40 physicians in capital Baghdad. The court took the procedures against the defendant and ratified his confessions judicially in accordance with article (4) of Anti- Terrorism Act.
