President of the Supreme Judicial Council, judge Faiq Zidan, met with members of the council , Chief of Public Prosecutor , Head of Judicial Supervision Commission, Chief of Baghdad /Rusafa Appeal Court and Chief of Baghdad/Karkh Appeal Court.
The attendees discussed work of the courts specialized in integrity and administrative corruption - related cases and it is necessary to confirm providing evidences which law requires to convict the accused of administrative corruption cases by supervision authorities and investigative bodies, a statement of the Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council said.
They also discussed the circumstances of cases of demonstrators who are detained and it is essential to distinguish between the peaceful demonstrators and those exercise disturbance and assault the public and privet properties in contrary to right to peaceful demonstration guaranteed by the Constitution, it added.
They discussed the necessity of taking legal procedures against those assaulted the demonstrators ,killed and injured many of them and against attackers on headquarters of satellite channels. They also emphasized the right to freedom of expression and news coverage in order local and international public opinion view the facts without distortion.
At last , the attendees call for not release incorrect proclamations which harm the judiciary by some politicians who have personal and private problems with judicial foundation.
