Central Court has issued an arrest warrant against the suspect Maytham al-Aqaili and his gang in accordance with article 1/4 and pursuant to article 2/8 of Anti-Terrorism Act No. 13 of 2005. The investigating judge of the Central Court has ordered to establish a working group to follow-up the arrest warrants that have been issued against the accused Maytham al-Aqaili to eliminate the gang headed by him within a short period of time.
Maytham al-Aqaili heads an outlaw gang in al-Wahda locality in al-Madaan district . This gang kidnapped and blackmailed people as well as control the contracts relates to Chinese companies which are in al-Wahda locality since the gang extorted the owners of the companies and the contractors including the abovementioned company, a reporter of the Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council said.
The reporter added that on 2020.4.28, the security forces in al-Wahda have been ordered to arrest the gang after two persons working for a company contracted with the Chinese companies were kidnapped by the mentioned gang. As result a force of federal police broke into the farm belonging to the accused Maitham al-Aqaili and was able to liberate the kidnappers , killed a member of the gang and seized a big mount of heavy, medium and light weapons and four-wheel drive armored vehicles used by the gang to kidnap the citizens.
The court ratified the statements of two arrested suspects . One of them made confessions convicted the suspect and his gang and admitted to carrying out outlaw activities.
