 Baghdad / Judiciary Media

The Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council clarified that no judge or member of the public prosecution who continues to serve has been nominated for the upcoming parliament elections. The Council requests the retired judges and members of the public prosecution who are candidates for elections to clarify that they are retired . The Council also requests the former judges who are currently holding a position in the legislative or the executive authorities not to use the title (judge) because this title is used for a judge who continues to serve and retired with the title (retired judge), in addition to its conflict with the provisions of Article (98 / first) of the constitution, which prohibits the judge and member of the public prosecution to combine between the judicial position and the legislative and executive positions and any other work.
