Iraqi Women Judges Association reveals the high number of electronic blackmail cases

Through a workshop organized on May 21.2022, the Iraqi Women Judges Association revealed the high number of cases of electronic extortion in all regions of the country, calling on the Council of Representatives to expedite the legislation of the Anti-Cybercrime Law and toughen penalties against blackmail crimes that affect the user and affect his life directly.
The Iraqi Women Judges Association, under the auspices of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Dr. Faiq Zidan, held a workshop entitled (the crime of electronic extortion and its effects in Iraqi society). A number of specialists in this field and workers in the Council of Ministers, the Council of Representatives, Ministry of Interior and High Education and a number of activists in civil society organizations, media institutions, jurists, artists and celebrities participated in the workshop , the reporter of the Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated.
Dr. Hassan Hadi, Advisor to the Prime Minister's Office for Information Technology, participated in it and spoke about (cyber security) and how to protect information in cyberspace.
Dr. Nahla Najah, professor of media at Al-Farabi University College, spoke about (electronic extortion and its impact on Iraqi society). At the end of the workshop, the participants concluded by calling the Iraqi parliament to expedite the legislation of a law against cybercrime.
