Presidency of Baghdad /Karkh Federal Appeal Court conducted a symposium on drugs and their impacts on individuals and society. It was headed by judge Ahmed Al-Joari, chief justice of Karkh Criminal Court /the first panel and attended by judge Ahmed Abdul Sattar, an investigative judge considering cases of drugs at Karkh first investigation court.
The symposium was attended by a number of anti-drug officers, media personnel, civil society organizations and activists. The kinds of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances and their impact on individuals and society, in general, were discussed as well as the reasons of spread this negative phenomenon among Iraqi young men, the reporter of Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated.
The attendees praised the important role of the judiciary and the security bodies to terminate this phenomenon as it is the more deadly. They used this opportunity to reach their voice to the Ministry of Health to provide clinics in addition to staff with competence in this area.
